To All the Fathers in the House

Happy Father’s Day Everyone!

I hope you folks are having a great weekend celebrating with all the dads in the house if you can. Since becoming a parent, I’ve embraced the occasions (Father’s Day and Mother’s Day) a bit more. Moms and Dads do so much, it’s nice to just say, “Hey, nice job with the making of sacrifices and rearing those babies and children and whatnot”.

Speaking of dads, Jon and I are pretty fortunate to have a couple of good ones.

I want to call my dad and say “Happy Father’s Day, Pops!” but I think that would only ENRAGE him. He has an interesting take on the holiday in which every year, without fail, he likes to celebrate it by bitching angrily that “every day should be Father’s Day”. My siblings and I find his rants amusing but we get what he’s saying. Also, we kinda expect it now. It’s tradition!

I once read a greeting card to Jon from his father, giving him some simple advice once Jon became a father of his own. He wrote, “Love each other, and that love will trickle down to your kids”. So simple and so sweet, and totally on point, no?

Anyways, hope you guys have a good one.
